Make Pacific Dawn your next cruise

If you haven’t journeyed on P&O’s Pacific Dawn then it’s time to make it your next exciting cruise, especially since it now has a new, sparkling look thanks to a complete refurbishment and multimillion-dollar refit in 2017! Step on board and explore its many updated features…

The smart contemporary look of P&O’s fleet is impressive in many of the popular areas including the Atrium, Charlie’s Café, The Orient and the Promenade Bar. You will not find yourself short of stylish and comfortable spaces to enjoy a coffee or cocktail on board, as well as areas to enjoy live music and even escape the crowds on the upper decks.

Fill yourself with delicious food in The Pantry – an interactive-style dining experience that puts the flavours of the world on the end of your fork! Here you’ll find nine fresh food outlets that replace the traditional ship buffet, including the mouthwatering Curry House, flavourful Mexicana, Kettle & Bun for your fresh sandwiches and tasty salads, Sugar Baby for all your sweet-tooth needs, Stix for fine Asian cuisine, Fat Cow for meat lovers and McGregors Garden for a selection of fresh salads that change daily. You’ll also find Shell and Bones, P&O’s first seafood restaurant which is a must-have dining experience while on board and the popular Nic & Toni’s for fresh, Mediterranean dining.

With its fresh and contemporary look, the dining area is a great place to relax while digging in to the delicious food. Its palm wallpaper, granite-topped dining counters, wooden highlights and comfortable chairs immediately immerse you in those holiday feelings.

One of our favourite things to do on a cruise is relax by, and in, the pool and it’s now even easier (and more stylish) thanks to new outdoor furniture. Pull up a comfortable sun-lounger and get stuck into that book you’ve been putting off reading, or launch yourself into the refreshing waters of one of the ship’s swimming pools. If you’re after some peace outdoors then the back deck of the ship is where you should head. Deck 11 will provide more than 30 sun lounges and two adult-only hot tubs (which are very popular). On Deck 10 there’s also a bar, plus you can have snacks ordered directly to your sun lounger!

If you’re after some water fun then there are plenty of waterslides to keep the child inside you happy with two 80-metre water slides snaking their way from the funnel to the top deck. There’s also a waterpark full of interactive water features to keep the younger generations happy.

Alongside the outdoor waterpark there are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained including an indoor rock-climbing wall and live shows and parties. With a wide range of musicians onboard you can catch different music every night, from guitar duos and piano vocals to rocking four-piece party bands who play a mix of jazz, blues, funk and R’n’B. For a more chilled performance the Ocean Bar is definitely your destination, but for a more intimate live music experience then a visit to The Blue Room should be on the cards.
